StarTube LLC ("we," "us," "our") is committed to protecting your personal data and ensuring transparency about how it is handled. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and safeguard your personal information when you use MMVbe and the MMVer Browser Extension ("Services").

This Privacy Policy applies to all users, including visitors, registered users, Pro subscribers, and BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) users. By using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

For legal purposes, StarTube LLC is the Data Controller of your information.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information required to operate, secure, and improve the Services. This may include:

A. Personal Information Provided by You

  • Email address
  • Account profile information
  • Subscription status and plan type
  • Uploaded or submitted content processed through the extension
  • Support inquiries and communications

B. Automatically Collected Information

  • IP address
  • Browser type and settings
  • Device identifiers
  • Usage logs and analytics
  • Error logs and diagnostic information
  • Browser fingerprints (used exclusively for fraud prevention and subscription validation)

C. Payment and Billing Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers. Stripe may collect:

  • Payment method details
  • Billing address
  • Transaction history

D. Content Processed Through MMVbe

Depending on your subscription tier:

  • Free Tier: Processed content may be anonymized and used to train or improve AI models. "Anonymized" means data processed in a manner that cannot reasonably be used to identify an individual.
  • Pro / Pro + BYOK Tiers: Your content is never used for AI training. Data is processed ephemerally through enterprise-grade channels and is not intentionally retained by AI providers beyond what is technically necessary.

E. BYOK (Bring Your Own Key)

When using your own API key:

  • Keys are stored encrypted or kept locally where applicable.
  • Calls are made directly to third-party AI providers under your own provider account.

3. How We Collect Information

We collect information through:

  • Direct submission (account creation, content input, support requests)
  • Automated means (logs, analytics, cookies, browser extension events)
  • Third-party processors (Stripe, email services, hosting providers)

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use essential and functional cookies to maintain user sessions, support authentication, provide analytics, and secure the platform. Third-party cookies (e.g., Stripe) may be used as required for payment functionality. You may disable cookies in your browser, but certain features may not function.

5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

We process your data based on:

  • Contractual Necessity: To provide you access to MMVbe and its features
  • Legitimate Interests: Fraud prevention, service improvement, security
  • Consent: When required, including cross-border data transfers and optional features
  • Legal Obligations: Compliance with tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements

6. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Operate and maintain the Services
  • Provide customer support
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Communicate product updates or important notices
  • Prevent fraud and abuse

We do not sell your data.

7. Cross-Border Data Transfers

StarTube LLC is headquartered in the United States. If you access the Services from the EEA, UK, or other regulated regions, your data may be transferred to the United States. We rely on user consent, contractual safeguards, and legally permissible transfer mechanisms.

8. How We Share Information

We share information only with trusted service providers under strict contractual obligations, such as Stripe (payments), AI providers (processing), and cloud hosting providers. We do not share personal data with advertisers or data brokers. All processors are prohibited from using your data for their own marketing or AI training unless explicitly allowed by your tier and consent.

9. Data Retention

We retain data only for as long as necessary:

  • Account information: Retained while your account is active
  • Billing records: Retained as required by law
  • One-Click Share data: Retained for functionality, then deleted or anonymized
  • Logs: Retained for security and troubleshooting on a rolling basis

When data is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or anonymized.

10. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including encryption in transit (HTTPS), encrypted storage, role-based access controls, and regular security audits. While no system is completely secure, we take robust measures to protect your information.

11. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your data ("Right to be Forgotten")
  • Portability of your data
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Opt-out of certain data uses
  • Restrict or object to processing

12. Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

MMVbe is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that such information was collected, it will be deleted promptly.

For California residents:

  • We do not sell personal information.
  • You may request disclosure, deletion, or correction of your personal data.
  • You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf.
  • We do not discriminate against users who exercise privacy rights.

14. Additional Notes

For Free Tier Users: You consent to limited data usage (anonymized) to support model optimization. You must not submit confidential or proprietary information.

For Pro Subscribers: Pro-level data protection includes zero AI training, enterprise-grade processing channels, ephemeral handling, and no long-term retention.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect legal requirements or product enhancements. When changes are material, we will notify users via email or in-product alerts. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
